The Newham Generals released their ‘N To The G’s’ E.P on Sunday and immediately jumped in to the top 10 of the iTunes Hip-Hop chart as the highest new UK entry, second highest overall UKentry beaten only by JME’s Top 40 album Integrity, which also happens to feature D Double E too!
Having clocked up over 140,000 Soundcloud plays and 150,000 YouTube on E.P tracks ‘Levels’, ‘Soundboi Killa’ and ‘Murkin Yearly’, the Generals team up with Noisey to premiere ‘Bang Boy’, the third video from the E.P.
‘Bang Boy’, produced by Sukh Knight, is one of the darker tracks off the EP. With frantic strings in the intro bringing in thebass and brass, this track takes the Newham Generals back to their grimier roots featuring a guest verse from Chronik and Brakeman on the hook and remaining verse.
The Generals have performed in Australia, Dubai, America and Japan this year alone and hit Outbreak Festival, Born & Bred and Glastonbury throughout the Summer proving they remain a staple of the Grime scene, called on for any kind of Grime event – Red Bull Soundclash, Mistajam’s #SixtyMinutes of Grime and again for Kano & Friends.
Heading to VICE HQ on Thursday 21st May with some special guests, to perform a live set of the full E.P outside the offices, the Generals are about to shut things down and you can catch it all on the live stream via the Noisey website: noisey.vice.com/en_uk
