On Friday 4th February NERDS Collective return to our favourite bass cave, taking to the mighty fabriclive to bring our ravey beats and blips back to London’s heaviest nightspot for the very first NERDS installment of 2011!
To get things warmed-up, we’ve dropped an exclusive mix from UK funky front man Marcus Nasty, recorded live, back-to-back with DJ Spoony and MC Rankin, ahead of Marcus & Rankin’s set next Friday!
Delving into Marcus’ unrivalled collection of UK funky beats & blips, the mix gels the anthems that have become synonymous with one of London’s most exciting underground genres and sees the deeper side of house blended effortlessly alongside the soulful late-night rhythms destroying underground funky raves across the capital.
Marcus Nasty sits at the helm of the funky scene, recognised globally for his unique take on house and an ability to hand pick the artists, tunes and producers that are defining the sound, ever prevalent on his heralded weekly slot on the station to pioneer it all, Rinse FM.
Kicking off a new residency with NERDS Collective in 2011, Marcus Nasty & Rankin represent for NERDS at fabriclive on Friday 4th February alongside one of dubstep’s rising stars, SKisM and NERDS Collective crew Rattus Rattus, Klose One, Ordio Kid and Illaman. Expect our usual mash-up of all things UK bass, dubstep, electro, garage and grime…not forgetting the dirtiest UK funky in town!
