Slime starts the new year in fine style with the return to the label of Two Fold. Building hype by the day, the London-based producer has seen his tracks played across Radio 1Xtra, Rinse and many more thanks to a flawless appropriation of the best elements of classic garage brought bang up to date for the here and now. After his debut release on the imprint saw him amass a huge amount of positive feedback, we’ve brought him back on board for another fantastic set of floor fillers.
‘On My Mind’ rolls in on atmospheric chords and sweet female vocals before an irresistible bassline drops across shuffling percussion. The elements settle in with ease for a soulful bubbler full of good times and pure vibes.
‘Alone’ ups the tempo but retains the essential Two Fold blueprint, and why change a winning formula? With a melancholy edge, the chords drift in across a bouncing bassline and smooth vocals that are full of sunshine.
‘The Truth’ comes on strong with a peak-time percussive roller, diva vocals and bass stabs working their magic across a track that will be packing them in on the floor. A throwback to the golden age of garage but with that technical know-how to make it feel right at home in the present day.
