Slime welcomes the return of DJ Blakey to the label. Previous releases ‘If You See Me’ and ‘A New Chapter’ cemented his reputation with those in the know as the go-to guy for classic garage vibes. For this third release on the imprint, he returns with another superb slice of good times backed up with a stellar D&B mix from Ram Recordings luminary Basher.
‘Making Time’ rolls in on a summertime groove of laidback 4/4 and breathless vocals. Warm pads and bumpy percussion intertwine a serpentine bassline with dynamic results. This is a pure sunshine roller.
On the digital flip, Basher drops an intricate reworking of the original into a liquid classic in the making. Straight up peak-time ammunition if ever we heard it.
